Cloudy pink amber color. Poured a short head that dropped down to a ring of bubbles in less than a minute. Too cloudy to see the carbonation level. Left no lacing.
Sweet blueberry koolaid smell; I think the sour funk has blended with the blueberry making it smell artificial. There is some other major scent that I can only describe as fuzzy. I have smelled it before in a few rose wines, so I suspect that it has something to do with berry skins. Light sour funk shows up after a while with a hint of ground white pepper. Swirling the glass kicks up a lot more white pepper, more of the fuzzy smell, and a strong mineral concrete as if this was aged in concrete tanks.
Tart with a black tea flavor followed by the blueberry. This is like a variation of Earl Grey tea. Not getting any of the lemon it is named for. Some malt shows up as it warms a bit. The tart has a little funk behind it. The aftertaste is a light bitter which suggests a more complete tea flavor. The berry hangs on with a light sour as the bitter seems to get a bit stronger.
Very mild tongue tingling. Produced a small amount of large bubbled foam above the liquid. Moderately astringent.
One of the 4 beers in the "Juice Box Sour Mixer". Some of the scents seemed a bit out of place, like they belonged to something other than a beer. The flavor profile was milder than the scent. The base is like a fizzy iced tea made with a berry variant of Earl Grey. This would never be a house beer, but I can see keeping a few cans around to surprise people who don't like beer because all they ever tasted is big brewery lager.
