I had this on tap at the brew pub in Modesto, CA. They had a table talker (display) that said they brew this beer under license from the Hampshire Brewery in Romsey, England. They call it an Golden Irish wheat ale, I hope I classified this one correctly.
The beer was a bright yellow with a skim of foam and about average lacing.
The nose was of light spice, some floral aroma, a bit of fresh what and hints of lemon and orange.
The taste was sweet (not cloying at all) and flowery. Initially, it has a mild profile, but as I worked through the beer, it developed a bit of bite in the after taste and the citrus became more prominent. I had initially passed this one off as a training wheel type beer, but it grew on me very quickly.
It has a nice crisp mouthfeel and is easy to drink. Given the somewhat delicate nature of this brew, I was surprised at how well it held up to food. This one is a keeper!
