I had this on tap at the brew pub in Modesto, CA. They had a table talker (display) that said they brew this beer under license from the Hampshire Brewery in Romsey, England and used only European hops and malts
The beer was metallic bronze with a decent off-white head and lacing.
The nose on this beer was nice and assertive. Very strong hop (pine & flowers) aroma with a bit of pretzel like smell in the background.
The beer had an expected middle of the road bitterness. It was more floral than citrus or pine like. It seemed to be well balanced as the malts added a nice sweet compliment..
The beer had excellent low carbonation and a smooth and silky mouthfeel. It could be a good session beer as I like the ease of drinking and I think it has enough complexity to keep most folks interested. However, that 6% may be a bit much for a true session ale.
