.5 litre bierkrug @ the brewpub in Bangkok. Cost was 140 baht (~$4 USD).
A: ~6 cm wide cap. Frothy and creamy. Retention is good - ~6 minutes. Body colour is a deep amber brown.
Appears well-carbonated. Far from unique or special looking, but relatively near to style conventions.
Sm: Amber malts, cherry syrup, cream, Munich malts, toastiness.
T: Follows the aroma, but suffers from an unbalanced sweetness alongside the artificial cherry syrup. Not unpleasant, but far from genuine in taste.
Mf: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, coating, creamy. Overcarbonated. A bit more filling than it ought to be.
O: Not dreadful, and some will find it a refreshing change of pace from the fizzy yellow macros ubiquitous across Thailand, but it's unremarkable fare any way you slice it.
High D+ (2.48) / NOT RECOMMENDED
