Copenhagen 6/2 2019. 50 cl bottle from Fakta, Frederiksborgvej, Kbh NV. De 5 Gaarde's usual design in pale cream. The only sign that this is the revamped version brewed at Braunstein is the bottle.
Pours slightly hazy amber with medium-sized yellowish head. Bubbly. Settles as thin layer of foam almost able to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is sweet and fairly boozy. Sweet caramel, straws, grains, hay and sharp notes of acetone. Fairly strong presence of alcohol for a beer with an ABV of 7,5.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, greasy texture.
Flavor is quite sweet followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste issweet with a metallic tang. Lingers for a while.
Boozy, malty sweet slugger. Could do without the acetone.

April 2013: 500 ml bottle, from Superbrugsen, Denmark, ABV is 7.5%. Amber to brown colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Fairly strong aroma of caramel malts and brown bread, a hint of liquorice. The flavour is malty with plenty of caramel, some spicy hops in the finish, a hint of liquorice again. More hops would be desirable, but for a Harboe product this is not too bad.
