Can dated 12-20-21 into a 6-oz glass. (Hey I''m in a hotel in Costa Rica - best I could do!) Pours a clear gold with a nice white head - very attractive. Initial impression is sweet corn syrup, some chemicals in the background (that gradually work their way to the foreground), and a noticeable alcohol presence. Mouthfeel is slick and fairly smooth. Finish is dry and reminiscent of cleaning fluid. Overall, not worth the price I paid for it (which I think was somewhere in the neighborhood of $6.00, if I'm doing the exchange rate right). Interesting and another beer I'll never find at home, but also one that I won't revisit anytime soon - the Costa Rican AALs are better (and that's saying something).

My local, in-person trader, @tone77 has a tendency to travel abroad & in doing so, he will bring back beers for The CANQuest (tm)! I am always flabbergasted at his drop-offs & I am diligent (if slow) about drinking, reviewing & rating EVERY one. Thanks!
From the CAN: "Ingredients: Water, barley malt, glucose syrup and hops."
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting schooner glass. It foamed beautifully to form just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, tawny head that simply wilted & faded into wisps. 8=( Color was beyond gorgeous - it had NE-plus clarity in a Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) colored liquid! Of course, this led to an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Mammon & Midas, but I was happy to see them after so many dark beers. Nose had a sweet, corn-like perfuminess. 8=p This might align with the style, but for yours truly, it was no bueno. Mouthfeel had some heft, not quite big, but on the approach. The taste was really sharp with pink bubblegum, dry cleaning solvent & fusel alcohol all present. Again, correct for this flawed style, NOT okay for me. 8=p Finish was super-dry with a slight burn from the alcohol.
I CAN remember, in the mid-to-late 1980s, when Michelob released Michelob Dry. I had been a big fan of Mich (Mick) at that point, really digging Mich Dark, so when Mich Dry appeared, I felt CANpelled to try it. I was suddenly struck by the difference between "sweet"/regular Mich & the new Mich Dry.
This beer was beyond dry and into "arid". Phew! It cleared my sinuses & left me gasping for my asthma inhaler! Dry? Barren & dusty! The zephyr winds of the Sahara Desert blew off of my glass as I drank it. 8=O YMMV.

I have left Rome and now am in Naples. This is the weakest of the several varieties of this beer. Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head,. Smell is of malts, grains. Taste is a blend of malts and alcohol. not particuarly tasty. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is mediocre at best.
