Had at Elevator Draught House During Craft Beer Week bottle release party. Poured from tap. Deep, rich, opaque color. Smells of caramel and Candi sugar. Ultra smooth body and mouth feel. Sweetness at front and middle and finishes with warming spice. This is a beer that will really come into its own in 6-12 months time, and will become superior cellared 1-2 years. Highly recommended.

This beer has improved with age. A sweet boozyness with notes of caramel. Produced in 2017 and sold in a 750 ML bottle, this beer is subtle yet compelling.

750 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. Had 9/22/18.

Pours a medium amber, a little hazy, with not much of a head and some soapy cling. Aromas of malt, dates, light Belgian yeast, a hint of cherries. Not much of an aroma at all, really. The taste is also fairly limited, but good. Flavors of malt figs, dates, light Belgian yeast. It’s a little sweet. Mostly smooth, a decent medium body, appropriately carbonated.

Maybe this was old? I only had it for two months. Surprising lack of aroma, and the body and feel are not up to par for the style. It is flavorful, if straightforward. I would not buy this again, but the other reviewers before me seem to have had better luck, so read those.

This beefy beast pours a very nice red tinged medium mahogany
color with a nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring,
thin swirling pool, and shows subtle lacing. Nose of heavy candy sugars,
dark plums, grape and raisin notes, and subtle spice. Flavors nail the
BSDA category with golden raisin and plum notes awash in dark candy
sugars and spicy booze with with some breaded malts and biscuit
flavors with a medium strong herbal hop that blends nicely with the
strong booze element. Very nice mouth feel; medium body, medium
carbonation, and a rich malt and warming boozy finish.

Overall, it is a great little ale brewed by a great brewery in the
heart of Columbus. Excellent!

750 ml bottle, 2017 release. Served in a DFH signature chalice, the beer pours a hazy reddish/brown color with about a half inch light tan head that stuck around for a little while. There's a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit (plum, raisins), candi sugar, caramel, and bready malt. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some Christmas-type spices and earthy flavors too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and smooth. Easy enough to drink, and the 11% ABV is hidden well enough. I thought this was a good overall brew, worth a try if you come across some! $15.99 a bottle.
