Poured from the nitrogen tap into a Belgian style tulip glass.
This is pretty neat, I've never seen a nitro tapped Belgian before.
Appearance- Beer pours a clear yellow golden with a three and a half finger tall head foaming over the rim of the glass. Lacing is not sticking to the sides.
Smell- Wow. This smells like a near perfect tripel. Very strange for an American interpretation. Yeasty, fruity, low on hops. Sweet with not too much candi sugars. A bit of a sour patch orange or grapefruit slices scent.
Taste- This is the first Belgian style beer I've ever seen on a nitro tap which earns the beer cool points right there. It is lightish, creamy, very warming with alcohol, peppery, slightly gingered, no candi sugar perceptions. Very warming overall. I would wager that this is a good 11%.
Mouthfeel- Creamy, warming, spicy, medium-full bodied, highly carbonated, very effervescent.
Drinkability- Drinkable , and it quickly creeps up on ya. Alcohol would really kick the hindquarters in a sessioning.
