On tap at J Liu's in a tulip goblet

A - not much head at all but very nice ruby color
S - slight roasty tones on target with most barleywine
T - a little bit of caramel notes with typical style representation
M - smooth and thinish without any heat from the "alleged" 15% ABV
D - very nice, theres a wow factor here that bodes well for brewery's interpretation - its phenomenal all things considered
Stop after two, or risk wobbling home.

Poured from the growler into a beveled pint glass.

Appearance- Beer pours a lightly hazed amber brown with virtually no head at all. While pouring the growler the bartender commented that he wished all the beers filled this smoothly and we can see why on the pour. Lacing is thin but the legs on this baby are ample on the sides of the glass.

Smell- Very rich and fruity. Grapes and starfruit are upfront and the hops found in the younger glass I had aren't nearly as strong this time around. I always thought I would never find a difference between a growler and a glass on tap, but the smell here is proving to me otherwise. The alcohol here is still present, but the fruits.. grapes, figs, raisins, and that kiwi-starfruit are all fairly new to my nose. Very pleasant.

Taste- Looks like I poured myself a bit more ample than at the bar, but no matter, this will be warming for this cold night. Wow. This is the best I have ever had from the Elevator, hands down. Strong warming toffee coated fruity alcohol, light caramel, nutty cashews, light molasses, and I'm getting oak although they never told me anything about that. A very nice tasting Barleywine.

Mouthfeel- Full bodied, chewy, very velvety smooth, better warm than cold. After taking it out of the fridge I had to sit it aside for a full half hour. alcoholic and not too hot. A bit syrupy.

Drinkability- I would love to try this in a year or two. This is one growler that will be gone far too soon I fear. I said it before and I'll say it again. This is the finest beer that Elevator has to offer.
