Beer is and probably has been called "Heifer Weizen" for some time. I doubt that it's any different than this one.

Poured into a tasting wine style glass.

Appearance- Beer pours lightly hazed, with a ring of tiny bubbles around the sides. Looks to be banana in colour. Lacing is hardly there, quickly retreating back to the liquid.

Smell- Smells like Bubblelicious with hints of banana. Clove is present but not strong. Bubblegum is the dominant power here.

Taste- Huge banana and clove. Bubble Yum, just like I used to sell when I was young at school. Clover lingers on the finish. The yeasty phenols are strong with this one. There is a Nutrisweet sweetness on the finish.

Mouthfeel- Creamy, light-bodied, slightly watery, and lightly carbonated.

Drinkability- A good hefe, but when it comes to this style, my socks really need to be knocked off for a decent drinkability.

On Draft at Chaamps

Served in a 22oz frozen mug

Looked like a typical Hefe, yellow unfiltered and cloudy

Tasted like drinking watered down lemonade, and was very fizzy on the tongue. None of the banana or coriander expected for the style. Not a bad session though, and it did complement the food. Definately not a stand alone, or anything to seek out, not really representative of the style at all.

A: Had this beer on tap in the house pint glass. This beer is a unfiltered white-yellow. It has a small off-white head that gives some good lace.

S: The smell is very light and mildly wheaty.

T: Not bad but a bit watery. It went well with the food but alone this would be a bit of a disappointment. It just needed more. It tasted almost light a very light witbier.

M: Mouthfeel was light and fizzy.

D: A bit of a disappointment but not a bad beer. I'd focus on their other beers.

Part of a sampler

Actually a Raspberry Hefeweizen, but as the little card on the bottom of the glass says simply "Hefeweizen", I might as well review it here.

Amber beer with a low off-white head. Utterly clear; no sign of hefe in my weisse! Sweet berry scent. Very artifical raspberry flavor. Fizzy and cloying.

On its own it was disappointing at best, but oddly enough, it paired nicely with my shrimp linguini.

Served with a lemon. This beer pours a murky dark yellow with a thin white head. Light effervescence. Aroma is mostly fruity and very lightly hopped. Light bodied with a tangy fruit flavor, and very carbonated. Finish is sticky sweet. This could be better.

This is a light hazy gold brew with an average white head. Not much of a lacing effect from the head that diminished a little too quickly. The nose is fairly light and gives primarily citrus fruit notes. This carries into the taste where a lemon or other citrus flavor was the most prominent. The body is too thin on the beer, making the feel too light.

This beer was a dark straw color with a small white head, with little lace. A good amount of carbonation. The aroma was of hops and citrus. The taste was of hops and citrus. The finish was almost sour and sudsy, probably brought on by the carbonation. Is an alright Hefe, but there are better ones out there.
