I've had samples of this at various beer fests in Columbus, this is were this beer mostly makes an appearance. But it showed up at Bodega recently. A barrel aged version of Bleeding Buckeye Red, sounds odd.
Served in one of Bodegas 10 oz glasses. This beer is a deeply hazed copper red. No head was formed at all, and thus, no lacing.
The smell is exactly like apple cider. As it warms the bourbon comes out more, providing notes of vanilla and oak. It ends up smelling like a bourbon infused, oak aged apple cider. Its pretty interesting.
If ever a taste followed the aroma, this is the beer. Its like a spiced, bourbon aged cider.
Moderate carbonation and body. If anything carbonation is close to the low side.
This really is a pretty good beer for autumn. I think it would be good for people who don't like much bourbon, or for those who are tired if bourbon stouts.
