Stronger flavor than the horny goat which I like better. More whiskey flavor but feels good in mouth. Nice aroma and color

Malt and whiskey aromas. Brown bodied with lots of tan foam. Very smooth mouthfeel, a good blend of sour mash whiskey and a bitter hoppy show at the finish. Aged a few months, I am glad I didn't keep it for a year before trying.Bottle from late 2012 from Steve in Warren. Great drinkability.

Bully Goat pours a copper color. It’s very clear. Tons of light cuts through giving it more of a reddish look. A soft, off-white head caps it. It’s modest, rising to only about a finger in height. It hangs around for a quite a while though. Not sure it will completely dissipate. Lacing was sticky, but lighter in volume.
The nose is extremely light in the aromatics department. It’s disappointing. Not much at all going on. There are some light malty notes. Might be a bit of caramel. Smells a little sweet, but it’s tough to tell. Whiskey is noted, but it’s very subtle. Smells alright though. It doesn’t smell bad. It just needs a lot more strength. Tough to get much out of this. Really tough.
The flavor’s alright. It’s actually pretty good. Much better than the nose. It kicks off with a mix of toasted and caramel malt flavors. It’s a little sweet, but not overly so. There are some dry, grassy hop notes. Definitely tastes like noble hops. Whiskey is noted and complements the other flavors well. It’s not an overly strong flavor. It’s enough to make things interesting though. Alcohol is there, but doesn’t seem very strong. At 6% abv, that’s not too shocking. Finishes toasty and grassy with a twist of whiskey.
Bully Goat has a body that leans medium. It’s still lighter. Carbonation seems relatively soft and light. It’s a bit too thin to be really smooth. A little more body wouldn’t hurt. It goes down easy enough though. Frankly, there aren’t too many barrel aged beers that rival its light nature.
Elevator’s Bully Goat is an alright beer. The name’s a bit of a misnomer. It’s not big or strong enough to bully much of anything. It’s alright though. The nose needs more strength. The flavor profile could use a little more complexity. Pretty good stuff though. Definitely worth a try.

A - It pours dark amber to burnt orange in color. Two inches of tan head settles to a skim by the time I take my first drink.
S - The aroma has a fruity, almost wine-like quality or maybe even a cider.
T - I taste a little caramel malt. The aging seems to have caused a dry finish. I barrel aging gives it an alcohol flavor that I wouldn't cite as good.
M - Pretty thin
O - I can't tell if this was a weak red ale that was overpowered by the barrel aging or a solid red ale that was overpowered by barrel aging. Either way the aging does not sit well on my palate. It seems like a low ABV beer to age. I like the creativity though.
