I am really working to eradicate the bottle backlog here at Chez Woody! This one came to me as part of a recent drop-off/drop-by from/with my local, in-person trader, tone77. I just hope that I enjoy it as much as he did!

From the bottle: "Product of Serbia"; "Belgrade Beer"; "Monde Selection 2011 Bruxelles".

I Pop!ped the cap, wondering where A Scandal in Belgrade might take me. An aggro pour produced three fingers of dense, puffy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, summoning forth The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus, all squabbling for a sip. Nose had a pleasant honey-sweetness along with a malty breadiness and a light grassiness, all bespeaking an adjunct-free lager. This may seem unimportant to you, but my previous beer was a foul attempt at a lager, where this one was at least decent. Mouthfeel was medium to full, not creamy, but bigger on the tongue than I had expected or had any right to expect. The taste was light, crisp, more bready than honey, underlain with a light grassy/drying hay taste. Finish was semi-dry and the taste of grass and hay lingered well past the swallow. Much better!

Taste: fermented grains, salty, hopped, bitter with a funky yeast nose.
Gold, clear, thin white head. Lite body, maybe a little light struck due to its green bottle.

Poured from a green 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is light, some mild malts. Taste is also mild, grains, some malts, drinks more like a light lager than a Euro pale lager. Feels light in the mouth and overall, it was nice to try a beer from Serbia, but I won't be needing another.

Surprised this hasn't shown up at my favorite Serbian deli before... served in a goblet, saturated orange, lightly hazed with visible trails of carbonation and random spotty lacing. Ok coverage, seems to maintain a skim for awhile.

Grassy herbal skunk, reefer and ritz crackers.

Crisp bite with a nice herbal character, dry pale malt with a hint of creeping butterscotch, thankfully not too sweet. Crackery with a vague floral rose petal note in the aftertaste. Dry and quenching. Only bought a single but would try again. Utilitarian Balkan lawnmower lager with a touch more flavor and dryness than others.

So it's an EPL... to be judged against other EPL's, in which case it's above average.

Served in a 3 Floyd's pint glass

Thanks to TMoney2591 for allowing me the distinct pleasure of sharing in some Serbian beer.

This beer pours the golden straw color that I figured it would, there was a nice craggy white froth to it however the appearance had nothing to do with my disdain for this beer. My disdain came from how horrifically skunked this beer was. It smelled like roadkill skunk from the moment I popped the cap. The taste was a bit too sweet for my liking. There was a decent amount of corn syrup along with that light pilsner flavor that may be from actual malts in this beer. It was carbonated just fine for the particular style. I was able to drink the whole thing, but I definitely breathed through my mouth the whole time.

Well, this beer use to be called BIP beer. It was worst beer in whole former Yugoslavia.
Small green bottle with dark green label with "Bg" written on it is just replacement. BG is short from Belgrade. You can see on local registration plates on their vehicles those BG.
It seem that they work on quality - its now pale lager with white foam on a straw yellow body. Nose is floral sweet and mildly spicy.

Taste is inoffensive but interesting enough with crystal malts blending to make a bready A little watery in texture but it fits the light flavor and is refreshing. You could do a lot worse for the style.

Served in a Duvel tulip glass.

It's always fun finding random beers on the mixed-sixer shelf. This one pours a clear pale golden straw topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises wheat, rice, grass, and a friggin' ton o' corn chips. Hoofah. The taste bursts forth with grassy flowers instead of the corn, though the latter remains in the background. Not much else goin' on here. The body is light, with a light moderate carbonation and a somewhat crisp and dry finish. Overall, nothing all that great here, especially with that odd smell. It goes down easy enough, but I really don't wanna put too much more in me.

Small green bottle with dark green label of script "Bg". I have no idea how that is pronounced. Decent head for pale lager with white foam on a straw yellow body. Nose is floral sweet and mildly spicy.

Taste is inoffensive but interesting enough with crystal malts blending to make a bready, biscuit note and some noble hops to salvage a satisfying bite to the flavor. A little watery in texture but it fits the light flavor and is refreshing. You could do a lot worse for the style. I would drink this on vacation.

I found this crusty but fresh bottle at Discount Liquor in Milwaukee, it was only 1.29 so i said what the heck. I'm assuming the name of it is Bg, but I couldn't find it elsewhere on the site, and I know this is the correct brewery.

Pours a pale yellow, the head is bright white and isn't as long lasting as most, but it leaves some decent lacing.

This product comes in a green bottle, and it is not skunked thankfully. The smell is generic Euro pale fare, with a good bit of malt and a small kick of medicine like hops.

THe mouthfeel seems a tad bit thin, but the beer isn't too bad, jsut typical Eastern Euro pale lager. It was better than other Balkan green bottled pale lagers I have had.

It is something I would grab if I was on vacation during summer in Serbia. It is nothing bad, nothing really good, just a standard highly drinkable Euro pale lager.
