Appearance: It has a nice deep hazy orangy/amber color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down slowly and leaves some spotty lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of biscuity malts, some grain, sweet caramel, floral hops and light tart lemon.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has some biscuity/grainy malts, some sweet caramel, floral hops, some citrus and tart lemon.

Mouthfeel: It has a high carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with decent flavors and aromas. Not quite what I was expecting but still good.

A- Holy shit I've never had a beer that didn't explode the bottle that has had this much carbonation! It literally took me 10 minutes to pour this as the foam kept coming out of the bottle and my glass was all foam as soon as I poured this...probably lost 1/4th of the liquid due to this...bad bottle? I sure hope not! Once settled, I'm left with a super creamy and puffy looking head that took forever to dissipate with tons of sticky lacing. The brew itself is a yeasty, hazy rust color and there is still quite a lot of columns of carbonation rising to the top, but they look like fine bubbles! Can only give this average b/c I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be and frankly, I wasn't very impressed with the carbonation factor, otherwise a decent looking brew.

S- Sweet and spicy best describes the aromas to be found in the beer. Upfront, there is distinct smells of heavy cloves, followed by nutmeg and earthiness. After this, the sweetness of the malt is is more noticeable and helps balance out the overall aroma profile.

T- The flavors are creamy in general, but are mainly of spice and bitterness. The spice comes from the aforementioned cloves and other assorted ground root spice, and the bitterness comes from a blend of hop cones and some unripe fruit peels. There is an underlying tartness that seems to stick out more after the swallow on my palate.

M- Creamy, but the carbonation is still quite fulfilling...wish there was less of it. It's a little too tart in my opinion to be classed in the style that it is in my opinion. It seems to be changing between thirst quenching and smooth...I just can't make up my mind on this one and something that I don't feel is quite right with this one.

O- I had much higher expectations for this one....that said, I would like to redo this one again down the road...I think I ended up with a bottle that is slightly tainted and/or definitely overcarbonated. I wasn't really digging this beer and think that there are definite improvements to be made...

This is to me the best Saint-Arnould beer. La Vlimeuse is to me a beer that stands together in all points of the review.

A. Starts with a very thin head that takes seconds to disappear. A bright orange color shows all the characteristics of an Amber Ale. Not to many bubbles in the glass.
B. Has some dried fruit smell like apricots and some caramalized malt notes.
C. Now to me this beer is on the hop taste. The sweet bitterness turns to a light spicy taste that lasts for a little while. La Vlimeuse has a nice carbonation and a good overhall taste.
To drink again.

Pours a medium cooper, medium to high carbonation, a nice head that dissipates down to a good film, some lacing.

Aroma of spicy sweet malt. Flavor of belgian fruity esters and spice. A fair malt backbone and a neutral hop bitterness and no more.

A fair ale, quite a treat.

A - Amber coloured murk with little head and some small lacing with visible carbonation.
S - Smells of fresh hops and light caramel malts with a slight bit of citrus.
T - Nice and sweet caramel taste with some soft fresh hops to give it a bitter note. Quite bready and biscuity maltiness with some slight sour lemony notes. A long lasting aftertaste with an odd sour bread mixture. Very reminiscent of an English Ale.
M - A little thin, not so refreshing as it could be. A little odd feel to it, hard to describe.
D - Fairly drinkable. The bitter hoppiness makes it easy to have a few.

belle bière ambrée-orangée, très bon goût de houblon américain probablement dûe au houblonage à sec, l'équilibre est un peu défaillant. une finale houblonnée agréable.

L'étiquette est changée et est belle avec une dame qui tient une bouteille de bière et 2 roses de chaque cotés.

Appearance - A dark coppery orange with a clingy and fluffy head

Smell - The smell is quite minimal, mostly malty and slightly biscuity

Taste - Malty with an assertive tartness, nicely balanced and mild

Mouthfeel - Well carbonated and smooth

Drinkability - Pleasant yet mild taste makes it very drinkable

Appearance: Deep golden in color, with a small white head, which soon collapses to a scattering of foam, with thin, fine lacing.

Aroma: Toasted malts dominate, with some caramel, and a moderate herbal hop presence.

Taste: Toasted and caramel malts upfront, followed by citrus and orange rinds, finishes with a mild bitterness.

Mouth feel: Smooth and full, soft, pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: Pleasing and drinkable, certainly a bit different.

My bottle doesn’t match the picture here. It’s green with a lady on it.

Aroma: Mild aroma, mostly light sweet malt.

Appearance: Amber glass holds a small collar of white, little lacing.

Flavor: Sweet malt, mild spice note that is probably yeast induced.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, average carbonation.

Overall Impression: Not much to say. It’s clean, refreshing, mild, pretty good.

This sample probably isn't representative of what the brewer intended, or how it left the brewery. So consider this as more of a public service announcement.

A: Hazy-orange; white head, no retention or lace.

S: Smells like a Belgian Pale Ale, with a little tartness (lactobacillous infected?).

T: Tart, grainy, acidic, not good.

M: Dry, acidic, yet somewhat creamy.

D: I couldn't choke it down... but I have had worse.

Initially, lagerlness with whack of yeast, followed by alcohol drying and aggressive carbonation. I could get through a second cheekful and that's it. Constructive criticism: the yeast and not so much carbonation? The whole think didn't work out together.

341 mL brown bottle.

Pours a bright copper orange with a nice, creamy head that dies down to a collar fairly quickly.

Spicy, citrusy aroma with a bit of malt coming through.

A solid caramel maltiness backs up grapefruit and pinecone hop flavours. There is definitely some Cascade in here. A pleasant sticky sweetness coats the lips. Very clean and balanced flavour. Body is silky and carbonation is moderately high. Alcohol is barely noticeable..

Very delicious.
