Pretty unimaginative white beer. Forgetable taste.

Scanning through the reviews, it appears that this beer is all over the place in its characteristics.
Mine poured up with a short head that very quickly settled to a partial film. It is crystal clear golden yellow and looks more like a lager than anything else. No sign of yeast or lees or anything else, so more than a bit off the beaten track for a wit beer.
My sample has a gentle aroma of wheat, citrus and spice fitting the style. Very thin-bodied, some citrus, wheat and coriander. Overall, just a weak-kneed wit beer. Not offensive, but not something I would seek out. Seems to me with the tastings being all over the map these guys need to work on being consistent with their brewing.

Well compared to the other two Saint-Arnould beers I've reviewed yesterday, this one is not doing so well. In fact its a bit disapointing!
La blanche Des Anges, a White Ale appears more to me like a bad lager.
A. It has a very clear gold color with absolutely no head retention and no fizz.
B. It has a light citrus smell and what I find to be a skunky smell like some other VERY popular beers I won't mention.
C. Very light in taste, watery with a small dose of hop bitterness. Again with the citrus, maybe lemon zest. Very low carbonation, Overall: Not impressed, probably won't try again.
Cheers

When I drink a white, I always refer to Hoegaarden. This beer seems to try to emulate it but it falls short on a few points.
First, on appearance, it's not that cloudy hazy whitish brew you get in the reference. No, it's rather dark for a white.
Smells are a low point too. You have some wheat and yeasts smells... Not the citrus of the Belgian...
On the other hand, taste is quite enjoyable... It gets closer to it than expected.
Some bitterness is present but you miss the orange peel...
All in all, a beer one can enjoy but the reference is so widely available, don't waist you time on that one...

A - Hazy yellow/gold with almost no head, no visible carbonation.
S - Slight smells of alcohol and yeast allowing through some subtle smells of banana and orange and urine.
T - Mostly yeasty taste to begin with some small fruity hints. A longish drying aftertaste of yeast. Flavours of banana, urine and sour citrus. Reminiscent of orange juice or peach nectar. Not strong in taste and quite flat.
M - Undercarbonated. Gives it a juicy feel which is unpleasantly watery.
D - Too yeasty for the weak taste it provides.

341 ml bottle. Best Before 05/07.
A- Pale cloudy yellow. Small white head that dissipates quickly. Not much efferverscence.
S- Citrus. Yeast smell that seems a little off or spoiled. Faint pale malt. A whiff of old tobacco.
T- Very watery. Bitter and aspartame like finish.Coriander note. Lemon water. Weak overall and somewhat unpleasant. Definitely a wit, but a bad one.
MF- Carbonated water. Unispiring. At least it is thirst quenching.
D- Thirst quenching and light. But lacking in many respects.

Appearance: Deep orange-brown color, with a dusting of foam on the surface, and scattered lacing.
Aroma: Faint wheat and hop aroma, quite understated, in all.
Taste: Opens with classic wheat tartness, a mild bread note, which carries throughout the taste, finishes with a lingering mild bitterness.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, fairly full.
Drinkability/notes: Rather nondescript wheat beer, pleasant, but unspectacular, with little of the distinctive character of a Witbier.
Thanks to my friend and fellow BA HardTarget for sharing this rare example.

A: Hazy, dirty straw; white head, no retention, very little lace.
S: Grainy acidity, cloves, slight sulfur.
T: Grainy, slight tart acidity, lemon & orange citrus, cloves. Surprising amount of flavour for its weight, but not that good.
M: Light to moderate body is creamy/silky, moderate carbonation. Slight acidity.
D: Not so good.
Thanks Mike (MDS)!

Bottle fresh from Metro Joanette:
Poured a hazey gold with a fair white fluffy cap, laces well....not as spectacular as Hoegaarden but acceptable for a micro. Lively carbonation.
Peachy-citrus aromas mix with bicuit malt and corriander...slightly understated.
Thin body, weak on wheat malts and a fluid mouthfeel.
Up front you get some light Biscuit dough with a dash of lime juice, and a wash of coriander...fast spritzy finish where more lime tastes develop then some some sweet biscuity after tastes in the drying.
Nothing off or offensive here, just understated for the style. A so-so wit...OK on tap on a hot day if there was nothing else available .

Bottle Inspection: Label lists 4% abv. on this 12 oz. brown twisty
Aroma: Some strong wet grain and mild spices, maybe white pepper- very mild on the spice.
Appearance: Deep blonde/gold glass keeps a thin white head
Flavor: Heavy wheat/grain is the main taste with some mild spices, much as the nose predicted. There was a touch of oxygenation in my sample, and no date on the bottle.
Mouthfeel: Low carbonation, medium body, slightly slick texture
Overall Impression: This is ok, but of all the wits we tried, this was the least favorite. Much more of a wheat than a wit.
Hand carried back from Montreal

Some initial yeasty hoppy taste, followed by acceptable drinkable though thin drink for a hot summer day. Bit of lemon citrus and sourness, covered by malt. Underaverage carbonation. Reasonable refreshing, though follow on of drying and metallic. SOur aftertaste, like a water with a couple slices of lemon.
Had a year later and tasted a bit moe hops.

Bottle: Poured a clear light golden colored ale with small white bubbly head with no retention. Aroma is quite weak with some wheat that is discernable and light spices. Taste is somewhat refreshing but lack spices, wheat and some citrus flavor. Very disappointing and body is way too thin for a wit and I always prefer my wit to be more cloudy/unfiltered.
