this is a huuge beer, boozy too be sure. the massive quantity of sugars required to raise the abv make their presence known. pretty amber color with considerable lacing across the glass, stone's triple ipa has minimal head retention. i get roasted garlic, sweet orange peel and maybe a bit of peach cobbler on the nose. despite the 11+% the heat is not overwhelming, but you do taste (and feel) the alcohol. mouth filling and bitter, this is not a beer to drink in quantity. i suppose this is an accurate representation of the style but not something i would seek out.
