First off, this is described as an Imperial Wheat IPA. Clear dark amber in the tulip. Sharp and spritzy on the tongue. The aroma makes your nose hairs tingle-- it's such a powerful blast of fruit and hop oils.

Tastes of charred leeks and green peppers, strangely enough. Deeply fruity with papaya and grilled melon. There is some kind of persistent browned taste plus a peculiar perfumey fruitiness. Baked onion.

Brewer says this is "dry-hopped with Columbus and a new experimental hop variety from Steiner, called 05256." Definitely a strange and unusual bunch of aromatics. On tap at Stone Company Store by the train station in San Diego.

4 oz. pour off tap @ The Hangar (Tustin, CA) into a mini-pint glass.

Loads of onion and vegetal flavors with a garlic-ky finish.

Was an ok beer for me. Not my style. Wheat overwhelmed my senses at first, but became drinkable after initial hit.

Had it very fresh on tap.

Appearance: Cloudy amber with a rocky white head and plenty of lacing.

Smell: Big time fruity, citrusy, and deep dank hops. Something unusual about it, but I can't tell what.

Taste: Strong hop bitterness and slightly sweet wheat flavor up front, into a pretty beefy wheat and malt backbone. Just a bit of lingering hop aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Pretty thick and moderately carbonated.

Overall: Delicious hop flavors and plenty supporting wheat and malt make this great all around. There is something in the hop profile I can't put my finger on, but it is definitely different.
