Poured from a growler into an 8oz stemmed tulip.
A: Pours a white foamy head, decent retention with small amounts of lacing in my glass.
S: Vegetal hoppy dankness up front, dried apricot, stone fruit, light aroma of sweet bready malt, faint hint of booze intermingled with the malt.
T: Follows the nose - more fruit in the flavor than on the nose - tons of danky hop flavor (slightly savory), just enough of a malt back to support the massive amounts of hops, finish is sweet (but not cloying) with just a touch of booze. El Dorado really sits on the palate beyond all the other flavors in this one. Very well balanced with a definite focus on the hop profile.
M: Medium bodied, mellow carbonation, bitter and dry finish.
An easy drinking IIPA for how big it is. Very well balanced across the board and dry enough to make you want to go back for another sip with each drink.
