Not really impressed with the Zombie Love Potion even though the brand name is cool. Nothing hops out to wow me, it is good but not great.

Consumed on February 26th, 2015 on draft at Stone Pasadena.
Average looking for a porter.
Aroma is nothing remarkable - mild dark roasted malts.
Flavor - damned if I can taste anything besides the standard porter flavors, competently executed but not really delicious. Adjuncts allegedly present do not assert in the flavor. Particularly MIA is the pomegranate.
Mouthfeel is standard for the style.
Overall - utterly unnecessary variation on the porter style. Stone's smoked porter is far superior. According to the barkeep, this is a totally different formula. Maybe they should have started with smoked porter as a base then added chocolate and pomegranate?

Pours very dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Smell is coffee and chocolate, small hint of fruit Taste is mainly chocolate, with a hint of tartness from the fruit. The taste and smell of the pomegranate grow as the beer warms. Body is a bit thin for a porter, but still good. Overall, this is a great porter, with an interesting twist.
