March 16th, 2015 - Hot on the heels of Stone's sessionable Black IPA is this meek little creature. Though the color has some depth and amber color to it, the aroma is quite hard to get a lock on. There is a slight wisp of mashed apple there, but otherwise the aroma is denuded, save for some meek hops in the background, found only when the beer warms a bit. The flavor is similarly mild, though not quite as sessionable. The front is quiet, almost cottony in the absence of taste, followed by a slowly blooming flavor of rice bun, which gets more sweet and savory as the flavor runs its course. There's also a slight taste of oxidized apple, which consistently keeps me confused about whether or not I enjoy this brew.
