On tap at the Stone Company Store in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a hazy dark orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of cocoa powder, coffee bean, brewed coffee, cream, and slight general hop aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, brewed coffee, cream, lactose, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that is cocoa and coffee forward, but the IPA qualities come through in the aftertaste.
Serving type: on tap.
