Excellent new Spotlight series beer from Stone.
Very low head retention, deep orange/brown hue.
Poured as a 4oz taster at Stone Company Store in Pasadena.
Incredible smell, very similar to that recognizable Rodenbach Grand Cru aroma of sour cherry with a nice wooziness in the finish. The taste also is reminiscent of a sour style beer, which I didn't expect from a wood aged Old Ale as I'm pretty unfamiliar with the style. However I know the style has been known to be soured, and I think this was a home run. Strong notes of wood with complimentary cherry and dried peach.
Great beer, just wanted to accompany with a quick review!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
