10/2/17...pours dirty gold, darker higher up with touches of surface foam. Orange citrus malt minty nose. Juicy citrus malt. Grapefruit rinds. sharp bitter, quite punchy. On and on it goes, grassy fresh and bitter. Tasty.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is strong of citrus. Taste is bold citrus, light malts, moderate bitterness, highly refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer worth trying.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a sculpted glass tumbler. Bottled on 06/15/17, sampled on 09/03/17 (BB date 09/28/17). Crystal clear amber color. Rather aggressive initial pour resulted in an enormous amount of thick, white foam. After allowing it to settle a bit, I finished off the glass with a tentative pour down the side of the glass. The thick head hung around for several moments, finally settling into a quarter-inch-thick white cap. Hop aroma was quite subtle. There were notes of bright citrus with a little floral character over bready, light-caramel malt. These carry over to the palate, with a pleasantly sticky bitterness takes over as the beer warms from fridge temperature. Overall a very good beer, with all the makings of a fine food beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is floral lemon with some garlic. A bit of an odd mix.
The flavor is sweet biscuity fruitcake with lemon and some bubble gum and a pretty bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a bit of a mixed up mess.

I was extremely interested in this "revolving hop series and had never heard of "Ella" hops, but it's Stone...all in all, this offering is an IPA ala Stone. I honestly cannot tell a difference between this and any other hop Stone uses or has used (truth be told, I recently enjoyed several locally produced lagers...). Bottom line, it's an IPA and it's from Stone! Nuff' said!

T: Taste follows suit with orange and citrus dominating.. almost a touch too sweet.
M: Medium mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, with a long bitter cling.
O: Overal a pretty tasty brew.
