June 2nd, 2015 - This is from the Outbreak Series, a dark beer looking much like a stout with a deep abyssal body and a light foamy head. The aroma is red and malty with a good bit of strength and touches of cinnamon. There's chocolate too, but leaning towards Nutella. The palate is thick and the flavor sweet, with raisin and oatmeal dusted in cinnamon. Lovely, sweet and deep, this is a phenomenal dark brew and matches the surroundings nicely.

Dark reddish brown with plenty of foam in the Troubadour tulip. Plenty of spritz on the tongue. There's a significant malty sweetness to start, but there is a bitter hoppy edge. It's all dark and a little too bitter.
Dark roasted malt and grainy flavors. Some burnt barley. Quite bitter aftertaste, but that's what you're at Stone for. Overall, this is quite quaffable and full of flavor. It's actually a nice change from the smoother dark brews that aren't as distinctive. From the crowler filled at the Liberty Station tap.
