2018 vintage
I managed to find yet another magnum in this series for just $20, so now I’m super stoked on finding more in this line. The bottle suggests pairing this with soft pretzels, so instead of making them fresh I just decided to get pretzels at the mall. Oops
Pours a hazy orange good with 2 fingers of white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
Quite the interesting aroma on this one. I get tons of banana and ginger immediately, with more subtle notes of lime and vanilla in the background. A tad sweet, but it works in this context
Lightly tart on the front end, just a hint of lime and lemon. The ginger comes in super heavy on the back end with orange and wheat to back it up. Not overly sour but very refreshing
A medium body combined with very subtle carbonation leads to a smooth and slightly heavy drinking experience. Finishes just short of dry with a nice balance of spice and sweet
This was better than Fahrt Die Ziege. For a berliner to hold up this well over 2+ years I’m impressed. It paired extremely well with the pretzels as suggested

L - Golden with some clarity and a large white head that leaves a ton of lacing behind
S - Tons of sweet ginger and lime along with some salt and other spices
T - Follows the nose: tons of ginger and sweet lime along with some salt and spices and some wheat
F - Medium bodied with moderate to high amount of carbonation.
O - A pretty interesting take on a sour - more of a ginger beer but still very nicely done

Poured from a Magnum into a tulip. Possibly a collaboration with Surly?
L: Pours a hazy light golden color with 2 fingers of foamy white head. Nice lacing.
S: Lemon/citrus... ginger and spice.
T/F: Loads of lemony citrus.. only mildly tart. Citrus leaf/peel... not much in the way of hop presence. Drinks almost like a Radler. Spiced up with some ginger that comes through at the end. Hides its ABV VERY well... warming... refreshing.. delicious.
O: Reminded me more of a Shandy than a Berliner Weiss, but this was a super tasty brew. Easy drinking and delicious... just tart enough to be interesting and the spice added another dimension. Definitely recommended.
