L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a coppery color and a hazy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of hops, tropical fruit, malt, citrus, and pine.

T: Tasted of a tinge of malt (only in the finish), light pine resin notes (not overly noticeable), lots of hops (not too much), some tropical fruit (passion fruit), and citrus peel (orange). A steady and well-balanced kind of flavor. It's definitely a hoppy beer, but not one note. Lots of fruit to balance things out. Quite tasty.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a very sharp, clean finish. Medium-bodied.

O: While this isn't a groundbreaker, it's well made and tasty. Drinkable.

Copper penny colored with an inch of frothy and densely packed beige head. The aroma is of bitter orange peel and onions. I'm tasting that very bitter orange and onion hop barrage. I do get some light malt in the back of the palate. The mouth is very resinous and lightly sticky from the bitter hops. I'm pretty sure Incognito are not my favorite hops strain.

Picked up a bomber from the Craft Beer Quick Stop cooler on 4-22-18. Bottled on 3-2-18; Enjoy By Date 6-15-18. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured golden orange with a beautiful white head that has some great hang time.

Nose is citrusy and tropical forward.

Taste is a nod to the classic west coast style. A fairly big pale and caramel malt base provide some notes of biscuits and toast. Hop flavors coming thru are primarily orange and grapefruit with some passion fruit and gooseberry. Finish is a healthy dose of citrus rind.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall i believe this is one of Stone's better IPA's i have had in the last five years. Interesting technology they have employed for the good of the imbiber.

if you are going to make an ipa with citra and mosaic, it better be the best darn ipa ever, and this one isnt. it just seems like everyone is using this hop combination now, and regardless of timing of additions or proportions, they all have a similar flavor, and so without absurdly high quality, they all run together a little bit. couple that with the fact that this is stone, so the beer is also strong and bitter, and we have a tasty glass of beer, but one that we have all tasted countless times before, even if this is the first time i am drinking this specifically. no love of hoppy beer isnt going to enjoy and appreciate this, and i certainly do, but its so samey, its not unique at all, just another one. at least its a west coast style, well refined, clearish, cleaned up, and bitter too. i miss that with ipa all trending hazy. this has a brightness to the hops that i really like, an almost cryo or lupulin powder or something, less vegetal and harsh than other stone brews or even others using the same varietals, thats its up side, but the profile in general, even being cleaner and fresher than many, remains the same. pleasant to drink on, even sort of summery, but not at all memorable as they go. this is better than i am making it sound...

With the proprietary mechanisms at play, the Stone Brewing Company employs an incognito approach to extract the maximum hop character from the Citra and Mosaic varieties for an IPA taste that seems unreal.

Brilliantly clear and with a light bronze depth, VirtuALE crowns with a fluffy swath of sea foam. A bold citrus, tropical and herbal bouquet swoons the nose while its early taste is of caramel, honey and granola-like impressions.

The malt sweetness tightens into a toasty, nutty support of the billowing hops as the focus shifts from barley to a hop dominant middle palate. Tangerine, red grapefruit and a pep of lemon frame the citrusy taste while a tropical hit of passionfruit, pineapple and gooseberry come in secondary. Trailing into an herbal bitterness, the late palate is spicy with green tea, fresh grassiness and a sassafras woodsiness.

Finishing crisp, clean and refreshing, the medium bodied beer trails with a spice of vodka and a long, bitter linger of freshly shaven pine, chive, blackcurrant and hemp.

A nice, hazy burnt orange on the pour, the fluffy light tan head invites a big whiff, which reveals dank citrus hop notes, along with a malt component that is welcome.

The dank citrus notes are more pronounced on the taste - this is a delicious beer that delivers a nice kick at 7.7% ABV. The mouthfeel is totally “Stone IPA,” which is a good thing in my book. I wish I’d purchased a second bomber of this, because I really like it.

Great beer for the alcohol content, drinks easy, has a bitter taste with notes of pine and citrus. Also the bottle art is pretty cool!
