My what's this, a new variant of Arrogant Bastard? And a stout?
Er, no. Not a stout. Comes in the same 16 oz cans, and 7.2% as before. Pours darker than the original. Still dark amber visible around the edges but this one's almost black so less light coming through. Head is half an inch, khaki, slow to dissipate. Aroma is hops and malt, grain, similar to original AB.
Taste is bitter as before, hopped up without the sweetness that lurked (barely) underneath the original. Pretty much all bitter and earth malts. Burnt toffee, some licorice, some leather, some roast. It could be the color and packaging but I'm also feeling this is a bit grainier than original.
Feel is very much the "strong ale" of AB. Thin, not creamy (maybe I'm thinking of Guinness) and no chocolate either. Sure, maybe it's technically a stout but seems more a black ale to my taste. IBU higher, while richness of original AB has been muted.
By the way, not bad at all if you're Arrogant fan, and not all that different.
Props for the Catherine Wheel reference.

More like an imperial brown ale or a slightly darker/roastier version of Arrogant Bastard (The Original). Aggressively hopped. Not for the faint of heart.

Seems like something didn't work out the way they wanted it to. But it's not bad.
