Poured in to a tulip.
A- Clear. One of the clearest IPAs ive had. Looks like Pliny. Very west coast. Two finger soapy head. Good lacing. Mild carbonation.
S- Citrus. Belgian yeast, cinnamon, faint cat piss odor as it approaches room temp.
T- Citrus, belgian yeast,cinnamon.
M- Medium bodied, crisp.
O- Not something I would likly buy again.

Had this at the Stone World Bistro on tap ($5). I don't know if I notice the difference between the Cali-Belgique (Beligie).
A: Straw colored with haze.
S: Spicy golden belgian nose; get some hops too.
T: Tastes like the Cali-belgique; get a nice hop punch at the end.
M: medium-bodied with adequate carbonation; not over-carbonated.
D: Easy to drink especially for higher than average alcohol.
I prefer Stone's hopped-up beers but definitely enjoyed this. Tasted good with Stone's pretzels.

On tap at the Stone Bistro on 3/14/09. Served in a cervoise.
Pours a clear copper with a thin head of brite-white foam. A nice flareup yields a very good looking cascade of creamy lacing that slowly slides down the sides of the glass. The aroma is quite lively, with floral hops and spices, Belgian yeast notes, and a solid layer of bready sweetness behind it.
The taste starts with a surprisingly strong and spicy bite of hops up front that doesn't linger for too long, being cut short by a backbone of bready malts, caramel sweetness and a nice and mellow yeasty feel that runs throughout. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a good feeling creamy carbonation and overall easiness to it that carries all of those yeast infused flavors across the palate.
I believe that our served said that this was the regular Stone IPA that had been infused with a Belgian yeast strain to make a Belgian Style West Coast IPA and that's pretty much how it came out. This was much more hoppy than the Cali-Belgique and I really dug it.

Pours a golden yellow with a nice amount of head that sticks around a while but not annoyingly so like your drunken uncle. Smells strong of Belgium yeast, wheat and light hops. Good amount of carbonation. Taste begins smooth with a hearty Belgium yeast presence then there's a sugary malt Belgium flavor characterized by toffee and a lot of caramel. However before these flavors can develop a flood of hops overwhelms the tastebuds- it reminds me of LT two years younger juking polamalu out of his shoes... hey, you can always dream, right? Anyways, this is much hoppier than the Cali-Belgique and much better. The taste finishes with a slight, fading alcohol presence. A strong carbonation ushers your tastebuds throughout this roller coaster which is really what makes the beer work. Very good beer.
