Stone Hazy IPA comes in at an easy 6.7% and less bitter than our other IPAs, but still blooming with bold, juicy flavors. This amazingly hazy IPA features El Dorado and Azacca hops which bring tons of citrus & fruit elements while intense Sabro hops highlight the big, tropical notes of this beer. The result of this unique hop combination is a groovy, juicy citrus bomb with tons of orange, lemon, melon, mango and pineapple flavors & aromas.

My first offering from Stone's Hazy IPA variety pack. I was looking for something fall-themed, but all they had were 6 and 12 packs of the same gorsh dorng thing. It pours hazy light orange with good lacing. The smell is mostly of lemon and grapefruit with a tinge of sweet malt. The taste is mild all around. The hop bitterness is not overwhelming, focusing on pine and herb qualities. Mild citrus and a cracker-like malt make up the remainder of the flavor profile. It's very smooth and easy-drinking, finishing dry and slightly bitter.

Well balanced, but nothing shines through. I finished the first one very quickly.

Stone Hazy IPA has a medium, off-white head and an opaque, yellow-gray-gold appearance, with some lacing. The aroma is of white bread, juice, and a touch of spice. The flavor is of those elements, with fairly-low bitterness and sweetness. It's somewhat bland. Stone Hazy IPA has a medium body and a dry finish.

Hazy golden colored with a thin wispy head, lots of carbonation. Smells like pineapple juice. Taste like pineapples, grapefruit, and tangerine. Crisp mouthfeel, with lots of carbonation. This isn't my favorite style, but this is a good beer.

Whether in San Diego or Richmond, or anywhere between, today's forecast is going to be hazy. Stone Brewing makes sure to this with a El Dorado, Azacca and Sabro packed hop bomb of a hazy ale.

Simply named Stone Hazy IPA, the beer pours reasonably hazy and quite translucent, floating a head of stark whiteness and a perfume of tropical fruit, citrus, cream candy and fine herb. The early palate enjoys a creamy and crisp grain profile of cereal, honey and coconut ahead of the hops. Bursting with pineapple, mango, passionfruit and pawpaw, the tropical flavors invite more citrusy complements of mandarin, grapefruit and lime. A smooth but peppery bitterness decorates the finish with tea leaf, verbena, sassafras, cedar and hemp for a semi-dry and drinkable afterglow.

Medium bodied and slightly more bitter than sweet, Stone's hazy ale is slightly more clean and sanitized version than what's found at your standard taprooms.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, dirtied gold-hued body with an inch or so of creamyish, white head. Light lacing.

Smell: Tropical, pulped fruits vibe with a light spiciness. Cream of wheat, subtler citrus fruits against a very forward pineapple aroma.

Taste: Smooth unmalted grains with some blips of cookie sweetness. Tangy, fruity. Again, that pineapple accent is pretty poppin', still with lighter citrus and a touch of cellophane-wrapped hard candy. Low bitterness. A bit of sweetness remains for the smooth, tropical (unapologetic pineapple) finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Light creaminess to the mouthfeel.

Overall: Not bad.

I has this beer on-tap in a shaker pint at the Stone bar in San Diego airport.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a thin finger of frothy ivory foam atop.

Smell: some sweet malt and a little fruity, tropical hop aroma. Not super strong, but nice.

Taste: sweet malt with a nice tropical note of passionfruit and a bit of some peach/apricot as well. It doesn't jump out at me brightly, but it's not bad at all.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a pretty good carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a perfectly cromulent hazy IPA, if not an outstanding one.

12 oz can from Total Wine and More in Short Pump, VA. The ale poured a hazy light amber with a small foamy head, poor head retention, and no lacing. The aroma of pineapple and other tropical fruits is detected. The flavors were pineapple, apricots, and pale malts. The ale has a medium body and soft carbonation. 12 oz can from Kroger. The ale poured a hazy/murky light amber with a foamy white head and ample lacing. Nice fruity flavors and aroma.

Pours to a light foam head with a straw color. Smell is a subtle blend of tropical scents, reminiscent of skunk. Flavor is a blend of hops, mango, and pineapple that has a slightly sour taste. It is drinkable, but it does punch your palate with sour bitterness as it goes down. An excellent New England IPA.
