On cask at Stone
A: The pour is a slightly hazy amber color with a moderate white head and some sheets of lacing.
S: The nose is not as hoppy as you would expect from a Stone beer, and especially a dry hopped version. The malts come through providing a bready and toffee flavor. The hops are there, but provide a mild citrus and grassy aroma.
T: The flavor is balanced, offering up some bread and toffee flavors along with a bit more of a hop component. The hops provide an orange and grapefruit flavor and a solid bitterness.
M: Being on cask, the carbonation is obviously minimal and the beer is smooth and slightly creamy on the tongue.
D: Not my favorite cask offering from Stone, and not even any better than the regular Stone Pale Ale.
