Very pleased to get to try this at Stone sourfest! Thanks for putting on a great event, Bill.
Pours cloudy, with a browny-orange-y sediment filled appearance.
Smells faintly of ... bourbon? Really? Or is that just solvent alcohol? In any event, shockingly boozy in the aroma.
Tastes like booze. Kind of like bourbon mixed with wood chips. Doesn't mesh well with some fruit notes. Slight mustiness, but not particularly sour.
Strange.

was really looking forward to this brew, but sad to have tried it.
the smell is very harsh. lots of alcohol and acetone in the nose. with a bit of sour funk.
the taste is very similar. the initial taste has some funky sour notes, but is over come by a throat scorching acetone and/or alcohol presence... hard to finish and wouldn't have this beer again.

On-tap at Stone Sour Fest
A: The pour is a sort of muddled brownish color with no head and no lacing to speak of.
S: Bourbon, vanilla, oak, and nail polish remover pretty much sum up the nose on this beer. Quite solventy and still a bit sweet, not really much tartness.
T: Certainly a bit of tartness, but it is abrasive and not pleasing at all. More of the same chemical nature that I noted in the nose. Lots of wood and alcohol, very little that is enjoyable.
M: The body is fairly heavy for a sour beer, and the carbonation is somewhat light which doesn't help.
D: This seems like a batch of barrel aged Old Guardian gone wrong. Nothing really redeeming about this beer at all and far too many flavors from the chemistry supply room.
