This is a corked and caged Quingenti Millilitre bottling. It is Barrel aged Double Bastard Ale with added chili peppers. (Crime is a blend of 3 ales with chili peppers).
Pours sherry brown with a very fast fading white head. Clear but with some particulates floating around no matter how long the beer sits without moving the glass or bottle.
Nose is assertive pepper, chili pepper and black pepper tones with just a hint of malt and only a hint of sweet Scotch Whiskey.
Mouthfeel is light-thin to medium with very light carbonation but much is lost since the hot pepper burn kicks in seconds after it hits your tongue.
Flavor profile is hot chili, black pepper and heat/burn on the tongue. There are light tones of malt, carmel and hints of Scotch Whiskey, all pretty much over shadowed by the heat.
Finish is a dull bitter "green" pepper tone with remaining heat on the tongue and undertones of very bitter hot coffee.
