Located Pizza Port's Stone Brewin Event using the Beer Advocate events calendar.
A: deep amber hue with bubbly head that produced thin lacing with each quaff. Appearance heightened even further with the 10oz stone emblazoned snifter!
S: very complex on the nose. Citrus, pear, flowery, caramel, oak; the list goes on.
T: slight alcohol, white wine, raisin, pear, caramel, bitter hop finish.
M: full bodied. Dry. Silky smooth.
O: easy drinking Barleywine.

Growler pour at the Protest Bottle Share For LA Beer Week held at Red Carpet Wine in Glendale, CA.
Thanks to smaisch for sharing this one.
Pours a hazy dark honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, toffee, white wine, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop and woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice white wine barrel aged presence all around.
