Bottle 314 of 396 from the 2012 4elf party. Imperial red ale aged in rye whiskey barrels. Brew was fairly muddy and unattractive, but a decent shine from the booze gives it a bit of a glimmer with a thin fizzy head that was gone quick. Nose is definitely ginger and a lot of all spice. LOTs of ginger. Taste is the same, with some hints of rye whiskey. Definitely a unique brew, but not necessarily something you'd want more than a small pour of. Some folks at the share really dug it from the unique flavor profile, it was ok. Nit a drain pour but not something i need to try again. Collab with shorts brewing. Festive for sure.
