Bottled 7/18/16; drank 8/6/18 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy orange/red appearance.
A rough pour yielded a noisy off-white head; decent lace.
Caramel, medium roast coffee bean & mild grapefruit notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Caramel & bitter grapefruit flavors up front; medium roast coffee bean notes on the finish.
Cloying & bitter; I've had my last.

On-tap 12/17/2016 at Battleship Brewhouse in Fall River, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a thin off-white head that fades very quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains coffee, light caramelized malts, some hops and some citrus.
T: The taste starts out with a mild coffee flavor followed by some citrus and caramel sweetness. Then a grassy hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is thin and there isn’t much balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: A little crisp, watery and not very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Not very tasty, does not go down easily, not too filling, decent kick, not a good representation of style, this is not a very good coffee IPA.

Dirty gold color and cloudy. Modest head, but it leaves excellent ring lace on the glass.
Very malty smell for an IPA. Behind that, I get a touch of coffee and floral hop. An interesting combo that seems to work well.
Well blended combination of paler malts and bittering hop. The coffee comes through on the swallow. As a person who is not a fan of coffee, I find this distracting. The body leans thin with an above average carbonation level. The aftertaste is most coffee like. Overall, this a pleasant IPA leans on the coffee to provide most of the bitterness.

This beer pours an orange tinged brown with an average head. The aroma overs a strong whiff of medium roast coffee, chicory, anise, and dried orange peel. The flavor features bright mild coffee, anise, orange peel, dried tropical fruit, and guava juice. The mouthfeel is light and fizzy, quite refreshing. Overall the coffee and hops do work in this beer - the coffee is of a lighter roasty flavor, while the fruity hops meld well with the overall concept.

CoffPA | Dark Horse Brewing Company. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, the head on this brew is two fingers thick and off-white with webbed lacing, and a medium brownish amber body.
I don't smell very much coffee at all, mostly just hops.
I taste, again, mostly pine and citrus hops with the coffee only there as an aftertaste.
The mouthfeel is medium-light with mild carbonation.
I'll rate CoffPA | Dark Horse Brewing Company with a 4.25.

An explosion of taste to the senses, the brewers of Dark Horse team up with the roasters of Dark Street for a serious magic trick of flavor. Coffee, hops, caramel and floral character swirls about the head and teases the brain about what's possible in beer.
Coffee and citrus waft about the nose with a caramel and honey backdrop. Its hazy amber appearance causes a step-back as the eye expects something much darker. With that classic pale amber appearance and a sturdy white froth, the beer's taste is sweet with caramel, granola, honey and toasted barley.
As the ale rolls over the middle palate, its caramel taste relaxes and the hops begin to build. Grapefruit, orange and an apricot slowly turn away from its floral upstart and develops an herbal verbena and grassy quality. Growing into a resinous, pine-like finish, an aura of fresh ground coffee swirls about the senses with a nutty kona-like softness.
Trailing bitter and earthy with intensifying coffee character, the medium-bodied beer is part-hoppy and part-coffee to close. Fresh-cut grass, tea and freshly shaven pine mingle with coffee-like bitterness for a balancing tandem of taste. A linger of citrus peel and an after-aroma of coffee remain linked in a long, earthen aftertaste.

CoffPA brewed by Dark Horse Brewing Company, with an ABV 6.50% This brew pours out golden amber color, with a nice white head. The smell of CoffPA is rich with hops, and coffee. You also pick up on grins and malts in the smell of this brew. Now for the taste, it is bold with burnt coffee flavors and malts. Kinda not what I was expecting but it is different. Was thinking something a bit different from this one. A nice amount of lacing to this brew. The flavor is different I'll give it that. It is growing on me. The mouth feel of CoffPA is rich, coffee, Hoppy and refreshing. It is also hard to pick up on the 6.50% ABV. Overall I'm giving CoffPA a 3.5 out of 5. I may get this brew again. Dark Horse Brewing Company, did a nice job with this one.
