Pours a clear amber color. One inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of spruce, hint of melon, slight citrus hops, and a hint of sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong spruce, slight citrus hops, slight sweet malt, and a hint of melon. Overall, good appearance, simple, but spruce is strong and well distinguished.

This beer pours a dull amber with an average head. The aroma starts with notes of caramel and very fresh pine & spruce, almost like a wet hop beer, with cotton candy, lemon, and violets. The flavor starts with luscious caramel and sweet fresh pine notes, followed by black tea, orange blossom, bubblegum, lemon oil, and resin. The mouthfeel is fairly full with foamy carbonation. Overall this is a very tasty beer, with potent spruce flavors, and tasty accents.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled 6/7/17, had 1/21/18.
Pours a light amber, cloudy, with a one inch head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of malt, spruce- which fades quickly, caramel, a little bread. The taste is malt, caramel, a little spruce as it warms. A good amount of hop bitterness on the finish. Smooth, a good medium body, well carbonated.
Obviously not fresh, so that doesn’t help, but I’m guessing that even fresh, it wouldn’t stand tall among spruce APA/IPA beers. It’s not bad, though.

I picked this up with a build your own 6 Pack. I was relatively excited to try this beer.
It was a bit of a let down it taste.
It looks great. Pours a dark hazy Amber that bubbles quickly to the top that calms into a decently thick lace around the glass.
It smells foresty with a strong aroma of Spruce and Pine with hints of berries, grapefruit, and orange peel.
The taste was the real let down. It kinda tastes like bitter pine sol.
That might only be because I am not a fan of a lot of hops and this brew certainly is hoppy. I would almost call it an IPA.
If you like pine and IPAs you could really enjoy this beer however! Just not my thing.

I got this off the single shelf at a beer store in Concord, Ohio. It poured a hazy amber with virtually no head and no lace. The scent has some malt and pine spice. The taste was malty with pine and a hint of minty freshness. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a interesting beer....not sure I'd 6pck this...but certainly worth a try.

L: hazy amber filled with rapidly rising bubbles under a thin cream to light tan cap
S: smells like a spruce tree but it has layers interspersed with malts, biscuit, caramel and a trace of resiny hop aroma
T: Rich malt introduces the palate followed by a mild hop bitterness, a touch of citrus, and then a big dose of spruce takes command finishing with a drying, mild resiny astringency
F: medium body and carbonation
O: an interesting and well balanced beer
