On tap at the Barrel House in Dayton.
Pours with a black body topped by a decent beige head. Slightly boozy nose with a bit more in the feel and the flavor. Sweet up front with enough bitterness joining in to tame it by the finish.
Very smooth, full body with light carbonation.

16oz growler bottles sometime in March. Poured into a red wine glass.
Pour: dark brown, small tan head. Clings nicely when swirled. Slight lacing. Attractive.
Nose: sweet roasted malt, dark fruits.
Taste: sweet malts are upfront. Dark fruit, maybe some chocolate. Finish is dry, slightly bitter hops. Some bitter aftertaste but very good.
Mouthfeel: substantial, oily, viscous. Medium carbonation feels just right. Really good.
Overall: absolutely worth trying. Loved the sweet malts, backend bitterness was good but lingered a little more than I would have liked. Really good mouthfeel. Would definitely buy again.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of maple. The taste started sweet then finished with boozy dryness. The mouthfeel is fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a very good...but very big beer.

On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short head and collar of light tan bubbles, which died down a bit but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of dark malts are present in the nose.
T: As in the smell, the taste is packed with lots of flavors of dark malts and has a subtle bit of sweetness from the candi sugars. The combination of the dark malts and candi sugars tastes a little like molasses.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is extremely malty for a barleywine and hardly has anything in the way of hops. This would make for a good dessert beer as something to pair with ice cream.
Serving type: on-tap

Had this in a snifter at Ashley's. Held it up directly under the light at our table. No light was shining through. This is a dark ale! A thick taste. Bourbon barrel aged without a strong bourbon barrel aged taste. Kinda, sorta, malty double IPA. If that makes any sense
