12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/2/2018. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep reddish orange/copper/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy apricots, chamomile, cinnamon, clove, lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of apricots, chamomile, citrus/fruity/earthy hops, and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy apricots, chamomile, cinnamon, clove, lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of apricots, chamomile, cinnamon, clove, lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of apricots, chamomile, citrus/fruity/earthy hops, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.25%. Overall this is a delicious fruit/spiced imperial pale ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of apricots, chamomile, citrus/fruity/earthy hops, and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Great balance of juicy apricots, chamomile, and Classic C hops; with a nice sized dark/bready malt backbone. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Did not prefer it over the regular Scary Jesus Rockstar.
