Appearance:
Orange yellow with light haze. Head is strong initially and lacy once it dissipates. Very nice looking wheat.

Smell:
Very nice smell as well, banana wheat and a slight floral scent.

Taste:
Strong wheat flavor with mild spiciness. That is followed up with a nice sweet flavor. The finish is slightly bitter. Very nice overall.

Mouthfeel:
Thick in the mouth. Beer releases nice amount of carbonation.

Drinkability:
The only thing that holds the drinkability back is the bitterness in the finish. Overall it's a great drink.

pours a light golden color with a light soapy looking head, aroma is really subdued a little fuity hint but not much there not like what a wheat ale should.Taste is crisp and clean with some hints of fruit but no spiciness,a wheat ale?It would be a nice summer beer crisp and refreshing but a wheat beer?I dont see it.

Pours a light orange/honey color with a small bright white head. Lots of carbonation bubbles racing for the top. Aroma is wheat bread and light citrus/lemony hop note. Tate is somehwat full pale malt with just a hint of bitterness on the back. Very lively in the mouth but lacks any real definition and finish. I really didn't felt as if it's true to the desired style.

sapient: adj. "wise and discerning (often ironic)"

Dark for a wheat. Pale for an "ale"...just right for a "wheat ale"?
Not only does the color belie any claim to proper, buttoned-up hefeweizen credentials, there seems to be a good dose of hops too. Overall it is light and refreshing though, with savory herb and roasted seed competing with delicate apricot and melon fruitiness. Stylistic limbo doesn't keep it from being deliciously dry and satiny until the crumbled hops powder it off on the medium-long finish, leaving a snap of peppery, dusty tannins to clean it all up. Just in time for the next swig.
Who are these people? My second Dark Horse product ever, and until I taste something a lot worse than this, I think I might have to nominate them to the pantheon of great Michigan Brewers. Let's see if they can keep it up. Watch out Larry.

Dark-than-standard, wheaty gold in color. Aroma is citrusy with some slightly bittered hop aromas making me think this is going to be a bit more in the American wheat style. I was pleased to see that they stuck more closely to the Bavarian tradition though as I was greeted by pretty bold citrus flavors. Pretty standard wheat except for a big lemon spike at the end where all the other flavors seem to drop away. Another solid offering from another solid Michigan brewer.

Slightly hazy dark gold. Thin white head dissipates quickly and completely.

Nose is quite grainy, definitely some wheat in the grist. Green, earthy hop note, and a whiff of yeastiness.

Round and full in the mouth with a lot of crackery malt. Hop flavor is very nice, and the bitterness gives good length. Low level of carbonation and bottle-conditioning make this a very thirst-quenching drink.

Pours out with a large, exploding head to a cloudy, dark, golden color in the glass. Aroma is that of clove. Taste is a typical, but tasty wheat with clove, light citrus and a slight, spicy twang present. Nicely done. A good summer beer from a very good (and not appreciated enough) Michigan brewery.

The color of this wheat is darker than any other I have seen, almost copper. The yeast aromas and flavors are quite tangy. There is a bit of bitterness in the brew, but it only comes out nicely in the last few swigs at the bottom of the glass. Very enjoyable.
