12 oz can from the brewery in Marshall Michigan. This is bourbon barrel aged black ale. Apparently, it's a BBA version of the brewery's Reserve Special Black Ale. It's definitely BBA: there's plenty of sweet bourbon (and hops) in the nose and the bold flavor carries notes of bourbon and charred bourbon barrels. Mildly smokey, but enough for some char to linger on in the aftertaste.
This clear very dark, reddish-brown ale looks essentially black in the glass. It has a decent beige head.
