Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a pint glass. The bottle features a rookie card for Joe Charbanaeu.
Pours a straw yellow with a tall white head that reduces quickly. The beer is fairly carbonated, with tons of activity from the bottom.
Has a ruby-red grapefruit smell, with caramel malt. Probably the best smelling of the Mad Brewer beers I've had to date.
Tart and bitter, this IPA is almost sour. Quite astringent, to the point that the spice is almost like alum. Tobacco, pepper, wood, and white pine, the taste is rather harsh for an IPA.
Mouthfeel is thin, watery; the only "body" of this beer is its assault on your tongue.
This beer is far too out of balance to be drinkable. No matter, though, this brewery has gone out of business.

A- Pours a slightly hazy golden amber. The head is a nice layer of foam. Head has tremendous retention and leaves some nice spotty lacing.
S- Thought this one was a little weaker/lighter than I'd expect. I could pick up some both piney and grapefruit like hops but just not enough of them. It also had a nice sweet malt back ground in there as well.
T- Again, the hops are there just not enough of them. Also thought it had a nice balance of malts but lacking the hops here.
M- Medium in body and good carbonation feels like most others of the style.
D- Not bad by any means but I would say this is more like a "beginner" IPA, for one starting to acquire the taste.
