Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a pint glass. I am aware this brewery has closed; however, I feel that anyone who took the time to brew me a beer deserves my time in providing feedback.
Upon opening the bottle (which had been at rest for some time) beer began to seep up and out. I've had spotty results thus far with Mad Brewer, so that did not put me at ease. After cleaning the mess, I poured gently as I could into my pint glass. My efforts were rewarded with a glass of head that took five or so minutes to reduce. Several pours later, I had a glass of dark brown beer in front of me. A thick, sticky tan head persists with nice lacing.
Smells of coffee, chocolate nibs, vanilla and malt.
Taste is much better than expected. I had read reviews of this beer on the archived page, and many of the reviewers complained of a sour taste. I find this beer to be nothing like that at all. Mocha coffee, milky chocolate, smooth presentation, and a milky creamy finish with a hint of bitter.
Mouthfeel is full, though slightly chalky. Leaves a nice coffee bean dryness on the tongue.
I had been prepared to be scared, but am pleasantly surprised at this one. Probably the best of the Mad Brewer beers I've had yet. And, I still have at least 4-5 more styles of this brewer in the basement awaiting future review.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
