On tap at the St. Benedictine Oktoberfest in Richmond, into a clear stein.

Appearance: Nice darker copper color with a decent off-white head and retention, though the carbonation looks a little thin. Maybe that's just me.

Smell: Nice balance between malt sweetness and fall aromas and spiciness. Some more vanilla and maple aromas among nutmeg and pepper and honey. And the slightest hint of citrus hops to not make it quite a malt bomb.

Taste: Again the nice balance between malt flavors, spiciness, and some citrus bitterness. Maple sweetness and pepper come through a bit, along with some doughiness and burnt sweeter malt flavors. Finish is nice and balanced and lets the hops creep in some.

Mouthfeel: A bit more watery than I wanted. Maybe it's the keg. Who knows. But that led to me being able to tell that it was ostensibly a more medium-bodied brew, which isn't bad at all for the style of course. But it could've used some more carbonation.

Drinkability: A nice one from Richbrau. I'll have to try this at the brewery when I get a chance, as they've impressed me with all that I've had there.

On-tap at Richbrau Brewery.

Poured a clear, bright copper in color. Thin, yet very sticky layer of white lace coats the glass. Spicy, zesty aromas. Caramel sweetness offers good support. Flavor is quite tasty. Spicy, malty flavor with a smooth, slightly bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Very drinkable. One of the better O-fests for me and a great local beer.
