Sampled at the brewpub in mid-August, the Kölsch comes out a very pale yellow with just thin white film above. I'll be generous and say there were a few lace spots on the glass. The nose, if there is any, was killed by the fact that the beer came out too cold. The mouth was light and fairly prickly. The taste is pretty watery, but does display the proper crisp malt edge the style requires. A very mild hop profile generates just a touch of bitter well into the aftertaste. It is too thin, but drinkable.

On-tap at the Richbrau brewery. Pale straw in color. No head. No lacing. Slightly sweet and grainy aroma. Flavor, as described is "mild and light." Very reminiscent of a Budweiser flavor. Crisp and clean, with not much about it. Finishes dry, with a hint of corny macro-ness. Nothing to write home about, but would quench the thirst in the summer.
