On tap at the Dilly Deli. Very happy to see this offering made available from Barrelhouse.
Pours a very dark brown, near black in color. There's a very nice mocha brown head of about an inch in size sitting atop the beer. Smell is dark roasted malts, some caramel, and much to my surprise and liking some roasted nuts. Taste is very nice. Just a tad thin, but the flavors make up for it. More roast, even more nuttiness in the flavor. This is a very solid Doppelbock that I wish they would bottle. Very smooth and way too easy drinking. It would be very easy to put several of these away in a sitting. Well done Barrelhouse. This is one of my favorite offerings from them.

Draft in growler from Party Town, KY in April 2008.
Poured dark reddish brown with a moderate light brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing.
Good caramel toasted tart fruit aroma.
Medium body with a sticky texture.
Good well balanced roasted bittersweet flavor with a moderate smooth balanced finish of moderate to long duration.
Good doppelbock.
