I have given this a straight 4.0 and not the 2.0 it deserves because what Barrelhouse has done is perfectly recreate what only Cincinnatians appreciate as Little Kings Cream Ale (r.i.p.), a staple of the Cincinnati beer drinker for decades. It is an exceptionally creamy beer with slight hops and slight malt, very little head yet a lacing caused by what must be a higher than normal gravity. I thought it was great but some might be disappointed by it especially if they have had any of Barrelhouse's other offerings which are always exceptional.

Tried this as Colerain Cream Ale. The look is a pale gold with an average head and little lacing. The nose is malty with little hop sense. Sweet and creamy, this brew is not balanced out with hops as well as it should be. The feel is decent with a medium body. Easily drinkable but it should have more balance.

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Clear gold color with almost no head. This was a really sweet and creamy beer with a light clean finish. Not bad for lighter fare.
