This Dubbel is a dark, strong orange color with a brown-red flare. The soft, creamy off-white head manages good retention at a steady height of one finger and constructs good lacing.
The smell is fruity, both seemingly darker from yeast as well as pale or tropical, to a point, with a soft alcohol, a good amount of dusty earth, and herb.
The herb builds in the flavor too, contributing alongside a clove-like sweet spiciness. Earth and a sort of must ride through, and it gets almost woody to play against lots of honey flavor that comes out in the middle and into a warming finish.
This beer has a soft feel in a medium body that leans light, with a good play of both crispness and smoothness.
