[Appearance: 4.0] A brown-orange beer with a barely translucent body, this unusual brew doesn't look different from many other browns. The firm head, a few shades from white, grows one finger tall with good retention and lacing all around.
[Aroma: 3.75] It's earthy in a "meaty" way, for lack of a better way to describe it, nutty in a sense, with an almost leafy bitterness and something like dried herbs.
[Flavor: 3.75] There's lots of bitterness for a brown, and that a rather dry sort. It really does take on the dry, cottony bitterness of the acorn. Balance does come through to prevent astringent or harsh flavors, though malts are nondescript.
[Mouthfeel: 3.75] The light-medium body, unsure exactly where it stands but shifting back and forth a bit, nonetheless offers a good balance of crispness and smoothness, petering off just on the end.
