had it on draft - tastes like someone melted and bottled a Christmas tree. Delicious!

This one is an amber-medium orange color, opaque and bright. The head is an off-white cap about half a finger tall that holds up pretty well. It leaves behind a mixture of strong spotting and patching.
This beer brings everything it promises from the spruce to the rye to the hops. The bitterness is at a good, firm level, particularly in the flavor, where it adds some citrus, pine and leaf to the almost sappy spruce tip, definitely some evergreen on the tongue without being overly harsh or adding additional bitterness. The rye adds plenty of spiciness and earthiness that doesn't clash with its crusty malts. The mix of sweet and dry mingle very well, especially in the taste.
There's a good medium body to this beer, and it's very bright. Crispness is strong and it remains pretty smooth as well.
