Had this last weekend when my wife and I stopped off at the brewery when we were visiting Toldeo for the day. Being reviewed from notes. I had this on-tap. Served to me in a pint glass, this beer is a clear, medium amber color with a white head that settles to a nice thick ring lining the inside of the glass and decent lacing. Aromas of some caramel malt notes, earthy, citrusy hops, and the spruce tips. The taste of the caramel malty sweetness upfront gives way to a nice spice note compliments of the spruce and earthy, herbal, slightly citrusy hop notes. The rye is there too of course. The spruce being here really compliments and also seems to diminish the bite from the rye. A very interesting and enjoyable combination. Has a crisp, somewhat smooth and frothy, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish. Easy to drink in a good way.
